Insightly is my favorite business app. My business is all about relationships, and Insightly makes it simple for me to follow up with leads and organize all of our contacts, organizations, partners, vendors and suppliers. You can see everything about a contact -- from background, email history and important dates, to any projects or opportunities in which they have participated.
2. Dropbox for Teams
Dropbox for Teams is our favorite way of sharing files within our company with our employees who work both inside and outside of our main headquarters. The mobile app is wonderful for accessing your files remotely. Enhanced sharing options and integrated file revision history are two of the additional features in “Teams” that make Dropbox, super powerful for businesses and teams. Some organizations are even considering this option as an alternative to traditional file server storage for files.
Slideshark is a free mobile app that enables us to show PowerPoint® presentations from our iPad’s and iPhone’s the way they were meant to be seen—accurately and professionally every time—with animations, fonts, graphics, hyperlinks and even videos intact.
Entrepreneurs tend to be highly creative and, even when focused on a core business; they tend to have lots of ideas and tasks in their minds! The key for me to staying organized is WorkFlowy. It is like exporting your brain to a highly scalable, well-structured app. I keep WorkFlowy open on my computer all day as my to-do list organizer and idea repository. The iOS apps are phenomenal, too!
Our team members used to email each other small tasks, but at some point the flow of conversations became overwhelming. Yammer allows our team to get the benefits of quick chatting through our phones without the to-do of opening an email or the distraction of a random conversation.
As a traveling businessman I am often on the run from one meeting to the next. With Tripit, I handle all of my travel details including booking, hotels and meetings.
7. Genius Scan
From saving notes to signing legal documents, it's simply the easiest way to scan anything, it even syncs directly with Dropbox.
With Shoeboxed, I'm able to take a photo after every business meal or purchase, add a note and then never worry about the paper again. It's a huge advantage, and It has also made compliance and tax time much less stressful.
We live in a virtual world today, and more times than not our team is working off location and on different schedules. To make sure everyone feels close to each other and is on top of things, we've brought in HipChat as our virtual mobile water cooler and private team rooms. Everything from chitchat to strategic discussions has its own place once we've virtually "stepped into the office."
Last but certainly not least I highly recommend you download Evernote to your computer, phone, tablet, and everything else possible! Collect ideas and inspiration in one place by saving project inspiration you find online and in the real world. We also created a digital file cabinet for all of our projects, documents and to-do and were able to add multiple layers of organization using Notebooks, Notebook Stacks, and tags.
